Isoniazid (6H), Isoniazid + Rifapentine (3HP), Rifampicin + Isoniazid (3RH), Isoniazid + Rifapentine (1HP) (people living with HIV)

Investigations

Rule out active TB first: TPT must never be given to a person with active TB.

First visit

TB symptom screen — Cough, fever, weight loss, night sweats — any present needs evaluation for active TB.
Chest X-ray — Adult household contacts, before TPT.

Only if indicated

IGRA or tuberculin skin test — Where available, to show TB infection in contacts aged 5 years and above (not needed for under-5 contacts or PLHIV).
LFT — Baseline in alcohol use, liver disease, pregnancy or HIV; repeat if symptoms of hepatitis.
Sputum NAAT — Any symptom on screening.
