Privacy policy

The short version. Nothing you type into a calculator ever leaves your device. I do not collect patient data of any kind. If you create an account, I hold your email address and what you have paid for — nothing more.
1. Patient data
ICU Decoded does not collect, log, transmit or store Protected Health Information or any identifiable patient data.
Clinical values you enter into the bedside calculators — weight, creatinine, doses, rates, scores — are processed entirely in your browser's memory and are never sent to any server. Closing the tab discards them. There is no server-side record of a calculation because the calculation never reaches a server.
2. What is collected, and when
If you only read
No account is required to read. Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) are generated by the hosting provider, Netlify, for security and reliability. These are not used to build a profile of you.
If you create an account
Sign-in uses Google via Firebase Authentication. I receive your email address, display name and Google account identifier. I do not receive your Google password.
An account record in Google Firestore stores your account identifier, your subscription status and which parts of the site your plan covers. That is the entire record.
If you subscribe
Payments are processed by Razorpay. Card and banking details are entered on Razorpay's systems and are never seen by, or transmitted to, ICU Decoded. I receive only a payment identifier and whether the payment succeeded.
3. Advertising
This site shows advertising to fund its hosting and running costs.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and elsewhere on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies generally at aboutads.info/choices.
Advertising is never shown to subscribers. A paid plan removes all advertising, and ads are never shown inside a calculator, alongside a dose, or on a printed page.
No information you enter into a calculator is available to any advertiser. It never leaves your browser, so there is nothing to share.
4. Analytics
Google Analytics is used on parts of the site to count page views and understand which chapters are actually used, so effort goes where it helps. It records pages visited, approximate region, and device type. It does not receive calculator inputs or account details.
5. Cookies and local storage
The site uses your browser's localStorage to remember your light or dark preference, which sections you had open, your daily assistant usage counter, and cached files that let the app work offline as a Progressive Web App. This data stays on your device and is not readable by me.
Cookies are set by Firebase Authentication (to keep you signed in), Razorpay (during checkout), and Google's advertising and analytics services as described above.
6. Where your data lives
Account records are held in Google Firestore, and the site is served by Netlify. Both operate infrastructure outside India, so account data may be processed outside your country.
7. Your rights and how to use them
You can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Deletion is permanent and removes your account record and subscription entitlements.
- Delete your account: use the account deletion page.
- Any other request: email contact@icudecodedd.com. I aim to respond within 30 days.
Deleting your account does not automatically refund an active subscription; contact me if a refund is also needed.
8. Children
This site is intended for healthcare professionals and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change and the revision will be noted here. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
